Tuesday, October 29th, 2002 - Prayer of the Week - Prayer of exorcism
Prayer said by a priest who is performing an exorcism by St. Basil
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O God of gods and Lord of lords. Creator of the fiery ranks and
fashioner of the fleshless powers, the Artisan of heavenly things and those under heavens.
Whom no one has seen, nor is able to see. Whom all creation fears. Because of his pride
and disobedient service, You hurled the Commander into the dark depth of hell being cast
down from the heights to earth. With him You cast the evil angels who fell away with him,
all becoming evil demons. Grant that this my exorcism being performed in Your awesome Name,
be terrible to the Master of evil and to all his minions who have fallen with him from the
heights of brightness. Drive him into banishment, commanding him to depart hence, so that
no harm might be worked against Your sealed Image. And, as You have commanded, let those
who are sealed receive the strength to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the
power of the enemy. For Your Holy Name is magnified, hymned and glorified with fear by
everything that has breath, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit now and ever and unto ages of
ages. Amen
Tuesday, October 22nd, 2002 - Prayer of the week on Luke 10: 16-21(The feastday of St. Luke)
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord You raised Your hands in prayer and thanked Your father who is Lord of both heaven and earth for revealing to us His true nature. He is God who brings life and love to a world full of hatred and death. We thank You for writing our names in the book of life and giving us authority to defeat Satan and all his angels and all his pride. May we see Satan fall like lightening and rejoice for You are the Son of God who came into this world to heal us from the effects of fear for You have given us eternal life.
