Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord You held up as a standard the Centurion as a man of great faith
because he trusted Your power to heal his servant who was paralyzed. He called You a man
of authority and so You are for You have authority over life and death. Today as we
remember those who sacrificed their lives as soldiers grant us the faith of the Centurion
so that we can direct our nation through prayer and action to be under Your authority. We
pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
Thursday, May 23rd, 2002 Prayer of the Week by Fr. Vladimir Borichevsky.
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord, on that day when my eyes shall no longer behold the wondrous
rising of the sun, grant that the eyes of my spirit shall forever be opened to the Divine
Beauty of Your Everlasting Glory. Amen.
This prayer was read as part of the eulogy delivered by Fr. Theodore
Heckman on September 5,1990 at Fr. Vladimir's funeral. He was my mentor and spiritual
father. In the future I hope to be able to put on our website some of his writings.
Tues, May 14th, 2002 Prayer of the week on John 20: 19-31.
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord You call us blessed who have not seen and yet believe. We pray
that we may see with our spiritual eyes as Apostle Thomas saw with his physical eyes. As
his doubt was converted into conviction and zeal so may we be converted. May the blood
and water which pour out from Your side confirm for us Your resurrection and then we to
can testify with Thomas "My Lord and my God" Amen. (The blood and Water that gushed from
Christ's side after the soldier speared Him are seen as symbols of Communion and Baptism)

Wednesday, May 1st, 2002, Prayer of the week on Palm Sunday
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord You wept over Jerusalem because the people rejected You. We pray that we will not be like them. Let these palm branches which we hold today proclaim Your victory over death and when You return in Glory bringing with You the New Jerusalem
open the gates of pearl so that we can enter and be Your bride. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen
