Monday, July 29th, 2002 - Prayer of the week on on Matt. 8:28-9:1

Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.

Lord we praise Your power over the forces of evil. You healed the demon possessed men and revealed to us the sin of covetousness and greed. Our consumer oriented culture has possessed us and we are living in tombs of corruption. As You drove out those demons so drive them out of us. Help us to except the losses we have incurred as a warning against the corrupting influence of greed. We pray that when You come to us we will not ask you to leave us for interrupting our business plans. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Tuesday, July 16th 2002 - Prayer of the week on Matt. 6:24-33

Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.

O Lord we live in troubled times. We have war and rumors of war. Our earthly possessions which You call "mammon" are in trouble. We see our barns being emptied by unscrupulous and dishonest thieves. You say "why worry" and tells us to consider the lilies of the field. You call us to seek first the kingdom of God and promise us that You will give us all that we need. We need faith, O Lord, so that all our anxiety will pass away and we will drink the cup of salvation with You in Your Kingdom. We pray in the name of the father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

Monday, July 8th 2002 - Prayer of the Week on Corinthians 2, 9:8

Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.

O God in heaven we pray that we will not be like those who spend all they have on themselves. Help us to be generous and share by giving to the building up of Your Holy Church. You promised that if we share we will be blessed with more so that we can share more. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Amen.

Monday, July 1st 2002 - Prayer of the Week on Matthew 19: 27-30 (Sunday of All Saints).

On Bended Knee, Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.

O Lord You offer us salvation if we are willing to put our love for You above all worldly pursuits. You promised us that we would receive hundreds more of what we have sacrificed. Today we remember those who have given all in Your name. We pray that we will have the same love for you when we called upon to be witnesses. We also pray for the families who are left behind. Help them through their grief as we share their burdens. O Lord when it is our time receive us into your kingdom with the saints who have received their crowns. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
