October 29th, Prayer of the Week on Luke 8: 26-39

Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.

O Lord we pray daily to be delivered from the evil one. You have the power to drive out Satan and all his angels. We have been cleansed of his power and have been given all that is necessary to overcome his wicked assaults. We do not put them to use because of our lack of faith. As we face the prospect of sickness, sorrow and death we pray that we will remember your promise that when Satan is destroyed all of our suffering will be destroyed. Help us to use the gifts which have been given to us to bring healing to ourselves and to those suffering from his evil activities. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

October 22nd, Prayer of the week on Luke 16: 19-31

Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.

O Lord in so many ways we are like the rich man clothed in purple and eating sumptuously. We have around us many poor and suffering who lack the basic needs of life and we give them crumbs. Help us to open our eyes to see their needs. Help us to open our pockets to give. Help us to offer our time, for our time is running short. Death is at the door. When it comes may we not experience the torments of hell but be received into Your open arms. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

October 15th, Prayer of the Week on Luke 8: 5 - 15

Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.

O Lord Your Word has gone out to the ends of the universe. You have planted Your garden in us and are tending it so that we will be fruitful. The enemy has also sown his evil seeds which are choking out Your word.

Today as we pray for those who have suffered from his evil. We humbly ask You to protect us. Help us to be vigilant in prayer and watchful in our faith so that the new life that You have given will be fulfilled in us and we will become living chalices and grow into the kingdom of heaven. We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen

October 2nd, Prayer of the Week on Luke 6: 31-36 - (Love your enemies)

Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.

O Lord our Father in heaven. You are the God of mercy and compassion. You ask us to love our enemies and not to react to violence with more violence. You want us to bring our enemies to You in prayer. As we proceed to protect our nation and punish criminals we pray for guidance so we do not return evil with evil. Be with our civil authorities and armed forces so they will do Your will and bring about peace on earth and good will toward mankind. We offer to you those who took their own lives and the lives of others may your justice be done. We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Amen.
