July 31st, 2001 for those who sail by ship
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Master Lord Jesus Christ our God, who walked upon the waters as
if they were dry land, and traveled in a ship to Your apostles, and rebuked the
stormy wind, and commanded the waves to be still: we beg You O Saviour, to
sail with Your servants, and calm every hostile wind and tempest. Be their
pilot, and a haven of peace and salvation. As You saved Peter from drowning,
so with Your Almighty right hand deliver Your servants from all assaults of
visible and invisible enemies, and from calamity, distress and fear. Grant
that they may successfully accomplish their purpose. Bless them with riches
of Your inexhaustible grace, and preserve this ship from harm. For Your are
the Saviour, the deliverer, and the rich giver of all things, both in this
world and beyond this world, and to You we give glory together with Your
Father who has no beginning and Your most Holy, good and life-giving Spirit,
now and every and unto ages of ages. Amen. We just docked in Ketchican this morning.
July 22nd, 2001 on Matthew 9: 27-37
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord You healed the two blind men and the man who could not
speak. You traveled from city to town healing all manner of sickness. You passed
on Your healing power to Your church. We pray that You will heal our spirit so that
our bodies will be free from the enslavement of death. We humbly ask that we be
filled with the light of the Holy Spirit so that the world can see that through
weakness we are made strong and that the only real sickness is the darkness of evil.
We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
July 15th, 2001 on Healing Prayer of Holy Unction
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord Almighty, healer of our souls and bodies, who puts down and
raises up, who chastises and also heals, visit those, in Your mercy, who are ill.
Stretch forth Your arm that is full of healing and health, and raise them up from
their bed and cure any illness. Put away the spirit of disease and every malady and
pain and fever. And if they have committed sins and transgressions, grant remission
and forgiveness because of Your love for mankind. We pray in the name of the Father
Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
July 10th on 1 Cor. 12: 4,5
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord Your Holy Spirit distributed many gifts as birthday
presents on the day of Pentecost. You commanded that we use those gifts to build
up Your Church. You promised that Your gifts would continue as long as we use them
for Your purpose. We pray that we do not lose faith and through fear not
open and use Your gifts. We pray that we do not become greedy and use the
gifts for our own selfish purposes. May we glorify Your name giving thanks by
building up Your Church for we know it is precious in Your sight. We pray in
the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
July 1st, 2001 Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, Matt 16: 13-19
Let us Pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy.
O Lord You prayed to Your Father that we love each other as You
love us. As You gave up Your life for us You ask us to do the same. Your apostles
Peter and Paul gave us an example of what love is by maintaining their love for
each other even when they had strong differences. Through the prayers of SS.
Peter and Paul we ask You to keep us united in our task to build Your church.
We pray that the gates of hell will not prevail so that it will be founded
on the rock of faith for You are truly the Christ the Son of the living God.
We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
