Garden Center Visit For August
Fr. Andrew started our visit with the story of Joan of Arc. Joan was a peasant girl living in medieval
France, believed that God had chosen her to lead France to victory in its long-running war with England. With no military
training, Joan convinced the embattled crown prince to allow her to lead a French army to be besieged city of Orleans, where
it achieved a huge victory over the English.
Fr. Andrew explained the Transfiguration: Jesus took Peter, James and John up on a high mountain to
pray. Suddenly the appearance of Jesus changed: His face shone like the sun and His clothes were as white as the purest
snow, with Moses and Elijah appearing next to HIm. Then a bright cloud passed over, and the voice of God was heard, saying
“This is my Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him.”
Loud voices were heard and bright candles held high as we prayed the Lords’ prayer.
Our visit ended with conversation only, since birthday cake for Jane was served earlier.
