Monday November 18th, 2013 - Prayer of the week on Luke Luke 16-21

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord you taught us to seek first the kingdom of heaven and not to be concerned about the acquisition of earthly goods. If we are blessed with them You want us to share with the poor, the needy and for the building up of Your kingdom on earth made present in Your Holy Church. Money and possessions are not to be worshiped as we learned in Your Gospel teaching about the rich fool. Help us not to be rich fools so when our souls are required we will not fall under judgement. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Wednesday November 13th, 2013 - Prayer of the week on Luke 10:25-37

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord, by Your example You have shown us what it means to have mercy on our neighbor. The Samaritan give his time, talent and money to the beaten man by the road side. You call us to give a tithe of our time, talent and money not as a burden but as an act of love. By doing this we are able to grow spiritually and overcome the sin of greed. We pray that you will touch our hearts so we can be generous in this time of thanksgiving when we make our annual estimate of giving. Bless our offering and received it into Your heavenly kingdom. We pray in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Monday November 4th, 2013 - Prayer of the week on Luke 8:41-56

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord You denied Yourself when You took on our human flesh and became lower than the angels. You shared Your healing power with the ruler of the synagogue by healing his daughter. You freed the women of her bleeding by the touch of Your garment. We pray that when we received Your Holy Body and Blood which You share with us, we too will be healed and be forgiven of our sins. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
