Friday August 31st, 2007 - Prayer of the Week on Matt: 18: 23-35

Let us pray to the Lord, Lord have Mercy.

O Lord You are a merciful and forgiving king. You are the only one who can free us from the slavery of sin. We beg for time and You grant us freedom. May we remember this when we are hateful and considering revenge. Help us to forgive 70 times 7 so our offering will be accepted on Your altar and we will become one with You as You are with Your heavenly Father. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Amen.

Saturday August 18th, 2007 - Prayer of the Week on Matt.19: 16 - 26

Let us pray to the Lord, Lord have Mercy.

O Lord we are like the wealthy arrogant young man who called You a good teacher. He learned how good You are but could not give up his wealth to follow you. He would not follow the one commandment that would lead to his eternal life which is to love You with all his heart, soul, mind and his neighbor as himself. We also fall under the same condemnation for we too worship our possessions. Help us to commit our lives and our possessions to the service of the poor so we can gain treasures in heaven and inherit eternal life. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Monday August 6th, 2007 - Prayer of the Week on the feast of the Transfiguration

Let us pray to the Lord, Lord have Mercy.

O Christ our God You were transfigured on the mount, revealing Your glory to Your disciples as far as they could bear it. Let Your everlasting light shine upon us sinners so we can be transfigured and radiate Your uncreated light. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit Amen.
