Thursday March 25th, 2004 - Prayer of the Week on Mark 9:17-31

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!

O Lord You have given us clear instructions about the effectiveness of prayer. Prayer with fasting and almsgiving has great power to bring about healing. Instill in us an inner call to live a life of prayer without ceasing. May our prayer raise to the level of wordless prayer so that we can be witnesses of your presence and can be conduits of Your healing power. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit Amen.

Thursday March 18th, 2004 - Prayer of the Week on the Sunday of the Cross - (The Passion Movie)

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!

O Lord You reached through all the evil, sin and corruption portrayed on the screen and have shown us Your gospel. We pray that the message will reach the unchurched and lead them to You. Help us to become better Christians, denying ourselves by turning away from the secular world of immorality and taking up our cross. You have set up free from the slavery of Satan. Help us to use our freedom to Your glory. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Thursday March 4th, 2004 - Prayer of the Week on John 1:43-51 - Orthodox Sunday

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!

O Lord You are the living image of God. Angels ascend and descend because You united our human nature with the heavenly. You closed the gap, You brought us into unity with Your Father. Your are the true icon of God and it is through You that the windows of heaven are open. We pray we will maintain the Holy Orthodox faith which You have shown us through this window. Help us to proclaim and witness to this faith as a thanksgiving for being among those who received the promise along with all who proceeded You in faith. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit Amen.
