Monday June 30th, 2003 - Prayer of the Week on the Supreme Court Decision

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!

O Lord You guided Your Holy Apostles Peter and Paul by confronting them when they denied and rejected You. When they returned to the truth through repentance You appointed them as leaders. Today we call upon You and ask in prayer to confront us when we are being led astray by false teachings and immoral practices which You have condemned. Lead us away from those who practice moral depravity as You led Lot away from the City of Sodom. Protect us from looking back as Lot's wife did for we know that immoral images can destroy us. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

Thursday June 19th, 2003 - Prayer of the Week on the feast of Pentecost

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!

O Lord on this day of Pentecost when you sent the Holy Spirit on Your Holy Apostles and are sending Him to us, we pray that Eastern and Western Christianity will again be united so that there will be but one common ministry of preaching the Gospel to all nations and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Tuesday June 10th, 2003 - Prayer of the Week on Acsension and Graduation

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!

O Lord, when You ascended in glory, Your angels announced that You would return the same way You left. When You return and begin the Last Judgment we pray we will be prepared. We know, O Lord, that the end is drawing near and our time on earth is growing short. May we take full advantage of the education You offer us through Your Holy Church. We pray that when we are judged we will pass the test and graduate into the place You prepared for us before the creation of the world. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
